Alexandria Wrestling Celebrates 50 Years

Jaymie and I looked forward to spending a girls' weekend up in Alex - for the 50th Anniversary Celebration - but settled for a quick road trip with her 17 year old daughter and her friend. :) When I found out this event was happening - and then that Alex was hosting Moorhead and Anoka! - I was excited to plan a whole weekend with Amy and Jaymie! Amy - still in the hospital - so now instead of just cheering for Alex - we also cheered for Joey!

Joey ended up losing both of his matches - but Anoka did well overall! (except that the highlight of the night was Alex's #2 ranked heavyweight beating Anoka's #1 ranked heavyweight. Yeah - it was sort of a big deal.

After the wrestling - there was a program/reception thing in the cafeteria. Jaymie and I stayed for that - which was cool - but really, we were disappointed that more of our generation of wrestlers/cheerleaders weren't there. In fact - the only other classmate was Randy Olson - and I'm pretty sure he was there because his dad is a coach. Maybe next time they do this - there will be more buzz - and we'll see more of our peeps! (hope so, anyway!)

Good time - lots of fun! :)

Lost V Season Premiere

Well, Amy missed it - but hey - that's just an excuse to do this all again! Lonny threw an awesome LOST-themed party - including fish biscuits and Oceanic water! The premiere did not disappoint either - this should be a great season of our favorite show!

Sesame Street Live

What a fun night - going to the Target Center with Lon/Jaime/Alice and Josh/Joanna/Zach! I really could have sat and watched Alice the whole night - she was in awe. She was yelling to the characters on stage - and waving at them! Can you tell she's spoiled tho?? Lonny got her the light-up-spinney Elmo toy, I got her a T-shirt, she had popcorn, juice, and a blue slushy. . .and she even got the $8 Elmo "buy-oon" that she just HAD to have. To be fair - I do agree with Lonny that $8 is a small price to pay for peace and quiet on the way to the car! :)

Amy Sue

Well - it's crazy how life has changed in just a week and a half. Pretty much, I've spent every night since Jan. 4th at Unity Hospital - with Amy (from Anoka)'s family. The story is long - check out her CaringBridge site - but pretty much - she had a blockage in her intestine - and has been in a medical coma in the ICU since Jan. 4th. Please keep her in your thoughts. I'm ready to be done with this - and have my friend back!

Jerome Rockin New Year's Eve

Ok - I'm totally stealing Heidi's title - but I like the ring of it. Yesterday started out at Bob and Sue's. I went up there to put Grandma's hair in rollers. She and Grandpa came back to my place while I prepared for NYE guests. Grandpa kept himself busy with dishes, shoveling (Bella helped), and cleaning things I didn't even know needed cleaning!

I combed Grandma's hair out (I think I did a pretty good job) :) - and then our guests started arriving.

Between the Nordins and the Olesens, we had a good bunch of friends to share our Chinese NYE dinner. (yes, those are Chinese Cabbage Rolls you see there!)

After kissin' at midnight . . .

(Heidi - what can I say - love you dearly - but I hope there aren't too many more NYE parties where we have to kiss each other!)

. . . we continued our Rock Band game until we couldn't stay awake any longer! :)

Happy New Year Everyone!!
