Movie #4 - How To Train Your Dragon

. . so to continue the fun Alice/Auntie day. . .we headed to AMC for the movie - and some hot dogs. (We didn't see the imax or 3D version, but this was the cutest picture I found :)

Alice still thought the movie was too loud, however, and had her hands over her ears for most of the movie. She didn't eat all of her hot dog (hard to eat with both hands covering ears) :) Alice only had to go potty once (which was pretty good) - and the movie was pretty awesome! Great story - great animation - and funny too. (not as scary as Alice thought it was going to be.

Grade for the movie = A
Grade for the experience = A

Alice @ Jackson

Miss Alice got to come to work with me today! It was an end-of-the quarter work day for us (grading, cleaning, paperwork). Alice was off of school today, too, so she came with me - and spent the day with me in my empty classroom. She watched a movie on my big screen, played on my computer, and used the big-kid bathroom a few times!

We were going to go to lunch too, but we were running late - and wanted to head to a movie - so . . . . . (story continued here).

Hunter Girls 2010

Sanner Grandkids

All NINE Sanner Great Grandkids

Lonny and I both took 1/2 days so that we could get out of town in a timely manner . . (3pm is timely, right?) :) My neighbors were packing and getting ready for the trip - so I was home checking Facebook. Dad's status: Brrr. This - added to his earlier-this-week status: Com'on Friday, very busy day, lots to look forward too[sic]. So exciting, can't hardly wait. . - made me wonder. The page to load Vegas' weather took forEVER to load . . but when it finally did - I saw that it was 71 degrees in Vegas. (which made me run next door and breathlessly ask Lon & Jaime: Do you think they're here???)

We finished getting ready to go without trying to get too excited - and we did NOT tell Alice - JUST IN CASE we were guessing wrong.

The Floyd Sanner Family

We started the caravan (we can't all fit in any one of our cars) :( . . so - L3 & Alice were in my car .. and Lonny & Jaime followed us. Road trips are GREAT with 3 1/2 year olds who think stopping to go potty is fun!! :) We stopped in Brooklyn Center - and then again in Clearwater! :)

Bill Sanner Family

The Jeromes

John Sanner Family

At the Cleawater potty break, Dad texted me wondering if we were in DL yet. :) At this point I was like 99% sure he was in DL waiting for us . . so kept texting him our progress as we got closer. :) I'm sure Dad (& Mom) were going nuts waiting for us to get there (yes, we had to stop three time more) :)

Four Generations!

Well, when we finally pulled up to the hotel, I didn't even get fully out of the car before I looked up to see both Mom and Dad rushing out with the hugest hugs EVER!

Grandma & L3

Grandpa & Alice

Yadda yadda yadda. .. food, fun, family, cards, swimming!!, sleepovers with Grandma & Grandpa (Alice's, not mine) :) Another Awesomely fun Hunter Girls Reunion!

TEGAN & SARA!

Are you KIDDING me with these AWESOME photos!?!?!? The tickets to this show were my Christmas present for Jaime . . but she had to take ME! :) And boy-oh-boy did it suck when we changed our Cultural Celebration to the same night. . urgh. . BUT it all worked out!! I left school early - (and guess what? the world did not end! - Ok - I mean Sara messed up the whole photo thing . .but URGH. .the world did not end!)

I headed down to NB to pick up Jaime - we missed all traffic into the city - got a great parking spot - and I'd purchased a T-shirt - AND drinks before the 1st opening band started! What's this? Who didn't send us the memo about white t-shirt/scarf/vest ensemble that Everyone.Else.Wore?? Well, to be fair, we were pretty much the only straight girls there . . but didn't fool everyone. . like the guy handing out the afterparty flyers at the lesbian bar :)

The show was at the Orpheum - and our seats up in the balcony were pretty freakin awesome . . . I mean, Yeah - I used my zoon . . but look how awesome these pics are!! And of course - Tegan and Sara ROCKED. God they can sing!! :)

Annual Cultural Celebration

(This is one of my favorite shots - my Mexican student running my Polish booth - serving food to our Chinese student, her mom, and her American step-dad. What a country!)

I've totally lost track of how many years we've been doing this event - and boy is it A. Lot. Of. Work. - but totally worth it! Every year - we're worried about the turn out - or the commitment of these teenagers - and so far, every year - they come through! We had 20 different cultures represented in our food booths - with over 40 kids working in the booths! And, again, we had a great show of talent after the food - except that I had to leave because of Tegan and Sara - more on that later . .. and because Becky was producing the show - Joe was back stage helping to direct kids - Mandy was cleaning up food and serving trays - and Mikki was doing my job - of cleaning up the cafeteria - Sara's ONE. JOB was to record the performance. Yeah. Nothing. Camera full. She didn't notice. That's okay, right? We still have the still shots. Nope. None of those either. So - none of us (including the kids) will get to see the performance. I'm still bitter about it. I'll let it go someday - but not today. When administration specifically asks for photos of the event to post on the district's webpage - and I have to answer back - yeah, we have NO photos of the event. Gonna love that conversation.

Vanhtha's Growing Up

Vanhtha closed on his house this week - so had a bunch of friends help with painting over the weekend. It's always quicker with help! (and a little bit fun too!) CONGRATS, V!

Penelope's 1st Birthday Party

My goddaughter celebrated her 1st birthday today! She was a little overwhelmed by all the people staring at her, taking pictures, and generally just making a fuss! :) Wow - can you believe she's already a year old!???! Time flies, baby! :)

Go Wild!

So Julie and Don were planning on going to this WILD game - yadda yadda yadda - Donnie couldn't go - so I got to! The game was fun - even tho we were both a little scared about falling to our deaths from those STEEP seats! The team actually lost - but that's fine, right? Anyway - the totally memorable highlight of the game - was getting out the SAME.TIME. as the Ordway show. . . and then just about getting in a fist fight with some jackass Lexus guy from the suburbs. He was in the ramp - and wouldn't let us out of our spot to get into line to leave. He had been there for "20 minutes" . . guess that justifies him blocking us - and not letting us in line. Oh? so that WE would have to wait too?? Of course - once we got moving - it was easy schmeazy - and I was glad to have a St. Paul girl in my car - to get me out of downtown quickly! :) You know - that's why she goes by The Muscle. :)

Timberwolves @ Gameworks

Julie dragged me along to this annual event - AGAIN - and I actually came out from behind the camera a few times! We enjoyed yummy apps - a few beers - and 1/2 the fun was chasing down every player for autographs and photos! It was like a challenge!

Don't we look like midgets???
